Mio Preseed Round
I'm excited to share we've raised $2.2M to build Mio. Our aim is to build your best hire yet.

TL;DR
- Mio has raised a $2.2M preseed round to build your best hire yet.
- Mio is a colleague that lives in Slack: it learns how your company works, uses the tools your team already relies on (3,000+ integrations), and gets work done.
- Mio is our own most productive employee: last week it gave our team 130+ hours back.
- Software can now do the work. We're building AI that gives people more agency, not less.
Mio is a colleague that lives in Slack
Mio works like a colleague. It learns how your company works, uses the tools your team already relies on (3,000+ integrations), and gets work done.
You can tag it in a channel or speak with it privately in a DM. You can ask it to work on a schedule or when something comes up. Mio doesn't wait for you to direct it, it's proactive about what it should do next.
What makes a hire good is not just the quality of their work, it's also how easy they are to work with. We've spent a lot of time fine-tuning how Mio behaves: making it capable without being overconfident, willing to question assumptions, able to explain its work, and clear on when to act versus ask for your approval.
How we use Mio
Mio is our most productive employee. Last week, Mio gave our team 130+ hours back.
Beyond the headline number, what Mio has changed is the way we approach work. Fewer disruptions, more flow.
Mio works across engineering, product, customer success, and growth. We ask it to fix bugs, prepare us for meetings and analyse user behaviour. It's become the first person we go to when we kick off a new task, when we gather context for a decision or when we need to catchup on a project.
Over the past month, teams in early access have used Mio to analyse customer feedback, run outbound, flag accounts at risk of churning, and optimise advertising campaigns.
Every day, I'm impressed by how capable Mio is, but what surprised me most was how quickly it spread across a team. What began as a simple test soon became part of how the company worked. Mio stopped being one person's tool and became part of the team: anyone could put it to work, and what it learned in one part of the company made it more useful to everyone else.
Why we think it matters
Software has always promised to make us more productive by reducing friction. It helped us store information, communicate faster, and organise work, but it still left the work itself to us.
Software can now do the work.
I don't think that means replacing team members. To me it means giving them back the time to focus on what they do best.
We are a small team of repeat founders and YC alumni on a mission to eradicate busywork. We are humanists building AI products that give people more agency, not less.
I'm grateful to Casey and Tom for backing us, to the early teams who trusted Mio with real work, and especially to my team for building the colleague we dreamed of having alongside us.
